For estate sales, we receive a percentage of total gross sales earned during the two-day sale and online auctions. We believe this approach benefits everyone. You don’t pay any costs upfront. We take care of all the planning and details so it can be a worry-free experience for you. We do need input from you about what items will be in the sale and what the family will keep. With that input, we can run with the plans and keep you updated. We recognize the loss of a loved one is never easy. It is a stressful time when personal belongings, furniture and even family heirlooms need to be sold or liquidated in a timely manner. This is an emotional process that can be very time consuming for family whether they live locally or across the country.
Once you choose Transitions Estate Sales, we will work with you to develop a timeline that works for you and your family. On average, from the initial kick-off session to sale day, it’s about 3 weeks. This is because we like to have at least 2 weeks of advertising, if not more. We also need to take into consideration the greater calendar of holidays, local sporting events and more. Of course, we’ve worked under tighter timelines and get things done. Every sale is unique.
You can still participate in an estate sale and benefit from collectors, treasure hunters and shoppers alike. We’ll work with you and one of our other clients to feature your items at an esate sale hosted at their home. Having more merchandise to offer means more buyers will come. This means it’s a win/win scenario for all. And for select items, we can sell via eBay or OfferUp to reach a broader buyer base.
We recommend first having a consultation before you start to giveaway or throw away any items. While something isn’t a keeper or great find to you, someone else may be looking for it. Definitely put aside items that you know you and your family will want to keep We will remove those items from the house or have them secured in a locked room. Our team will help review the rest of the items. From there, we create special themes and groupings of items to create a great shopping experience for estate sale guests.

Two weeks before the sale, we may list select items on eBay and or OfferUp to reach a broader buyer base. Any items not sold, will be part of estate sale.
